I believe seeing profound shifts in life occurs when we start looking inwards.
In March 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, I suffered from a severe concussion. It left me in a mentally crippled state. I had to re-learn motor skills, cognitive functioning, things that we take for granted every day.I felt hopeless for a long period of time. My life felt like it was out of my control. I was stressed, depressed, anxious, frustrated, and sad all the time. Even though I had loved ones around me, I was so lonely. I wanted more out of my life but I didn't know how to get myself out of this hole.
I went deep into my yogic practice and soul work. I started daily habits to cultivate healing, awareness, and clarity. It provided me the strength that I needed to push myself to recover. I wanted to get better and my practice made me reprioritize my recovery and what actually mattered to me.
I gained more clarity from my daily practices of what I was truly grateful for and what actually made me happy. I'm so much better today because of this. Spending months recovering and cultivating my inner self and going deeper into my self-awareness helped me create a version of me that I am truly happy with and continually expanding on.
